General Dentistry

For an unblemished smile

When we repair teeth affected by decay, we don’t use fillings that contain mercury – an often controversial metal used in traditional amalgam fillings. Instead, they are made from composite resin, which matches your natural teeth and provides an unnoticeable repair.

This hard-wearing material bonds with the tooth to support the remaining structure and prevent further damage.

The advantages

  • Better looking than unsightly metal fillings
  • Durable
  • Less of the tooth structure needs removing prior to placement

To preserve precious teeth

At the Gallery Dental and Implant Centre we always strive to save an infected tooth and this is where root canal treatment can remove infected pulp from inside the tooth to prevent the infection from spreading and possibly leading to tooth loss. We use the latest technology and have a microscope in-house.

Once we have removed the affected pulp with tiny instruments, we seal the tooth so its function is restored and it is protected from further problems.

The advantages

  • Can help save a tooth
  • Prevents the infection affecting other areas
  • Can relieve pain
  • Less expensive than having a replacement tooth

Dr Balaji offers a full range of surgical procedures. This allows us to treat you in familiar surroundings with the latest technology, without the inconvenience of a hospital visit

We can help with the following:

  • Extractions for painful teeth, including wisdom teeth
  • Biopsies

The advantages

  • Fit perfectly
  • Can protect the teeth, jaw, neck and brain from injury
  • Help to avoid expensive, time-consuming treatment

For happy, healthy teeth

It is part of our ethos to focus firmly on preventive care to stop dental problems from occurring or getting any worse. One of the chief ways we do this is by seeing you regularly for routine oral health examinations. These essential appointments allow us to keep a close eye on your mouth, regularly checking for any issues such as signs of decay, enamel erosion, gum disease and oral cancer.

New patients

If you are a new patient, your appointment may take a little longer as your dentist will take some extra time thoroughly examining your teeth, gums and soft tissues, and they may perform x-rays.

You will also need to complete a medical history form and routine paperwork. Following your initial appointment, we will let you know how often you will need to make visits to the dentist and hygienist.

You also have the option of choosing a no obligation FREE consultation which will allow you to meet the dentist and ask any questions before you join us.

The advantages

  • Can help you avoid the need for more costly, involved treatment.
  • Provides an opportunity for you to let us know if you are having any problems.
  • We can offer advice on how to improve your oral hygiene routine.
  • We can identify what type of treatment will help if you are having problems.

To maintain your gums’ good health

Dental hygienists are licensed healthcare professionals who focus on preventing and treating oral diseases to protect your teeth and gums. As well as assessing your gums and deep cleaning your teeth, which may include an air polish, they also give advice on daily techniques to help manage and prevent gum deterioration. Our hygienists can also provide treatment using PerioChip®, for those patients with more advanced gum disease, offer advice on teeth whitening and carry out oral cancer checks. The advantages
  • Can help prevent gum disease or stop it from worsening.
  • Reduces the risk of developing serious general health conditions that are related to poor oral health, such as heart disease.
  • Helps you look after your teeth more effectively at home.
Why do we put off a visit to the Dental Hygienist? It’s so easy to put off a visit to The Dental Hygienist, particularly when you are not aware of any problems. We know many of you are worried about,
  1. Time/ other priorities
  2. Cost
  3. Fear
  4. These are all reasons we need to address, so we would like you to know.
How we can try to help you?
  • Time: We offer flexible time slots between 8.30 am / 6.00pm to allow the most convenient time for you to visit us.
  • Cost: We offer a payment plan & standby appointments; our Receptionists, Magda & Kelley will explain these options to you.
  • Fear: We feel this is the most important reason, that’s why our two Hygienist’s (Kate & Hadjer) are fully qualified health care professionals, who will make your appointment informative & enlightening. There is always lot’s to discuss and you are given time to express any concerns and to explain how you are feeling.
Remember oral health is not just about bad breath, smoking, or sensitivity it’s also proven to be a risk factor in Heart disease or Alzheimer’s. Gone are the days of a quick ‘polish’ and a lecture about flossing or smoking. Now our hygienist will carry out a thorough examination of your gums, tongue, & soft tissues, (An oral cancer check) also a gum assessment or screening. The Hygienist will spend time explaining how you can prevent gum disease & tooth decay by improving your home care. You will get oral hygiene advice, be recommended a suitable toothbrush & interdental aids to help you keep your mouth healthy, and to prevent any problem’s coming back. A professional deep clean will be carried out with your full co-operation. This will remove any deposits or staining from your teeth. This could include an opportunity for an Air Polish, which is fantastic for removing unsightly stains caused by smoking or from red wine, tea, & coffee. We hope you have found this information informative.

The Gallery Dental and Implant Centre are delighted to offer a single appointment for most dental crown appointments.

Previously the treatment of a crown would take place over 2 appointments,  the first appointment would be to take an impression of your tooth and then send the impression off to a dental laboratory technician to make the crown. Meanwhile a temporary crown would be made and a further appointment booked a couple of weeks later.

Now, using the latest technology, for most teeth, we are able to prepare and fit the crown all in one appointment.  In-house we have our very own milling machine (Cerec is a sophisticated CAD/CAM system for the production of all ceramic crowns).

The benefits to you are:-

  • Same Day Crowns in one appointment
  • Crowns are tailor-made using a digital scanner rather than messy impression taking.
  • A porcelain crown can strengthen the existing tooth
To enquire about our same day crowns, call  01280 822567 to book an appointment, or if you know anyone who may be interested please share with them this opportunity.
